How Much Does a Private ADHD Assessment Cost in the UK?

Cost is one of the first questions people ask when considering a private ADHD assessment. Prices in the UK vary between providers, and it is not always clear what is included. Here is a transparent breakdown of what a full Adult ADHD assessment costs at Dr.Dropin, and what to look for when comparing options.

Dr.Dropin Adult ADHD assessment: price breakdown

Our assessment is a structured process made up of several steps. Prices below were correct at the time of writing (November 2026):

  • Discovery Call: free
  • Pre-Assessment Review: £149
  • Clinical assessment and diagnostic interview (two sessions): £439 per session in person, or £419 per session by video
  • Collateral interview: £99
  • Integration and report: £239
  • Feedback session: £119 in person, or £109 by video

What does that add up to?

The full pathway comes to approximately £1,484 in person or £1,434 by video. This covers the pre-assessment review, both clinical sessions, the collateral interview, a written report and the feedback session.

What is not included

ADHD medication is not part of the assessment, and Dr.Dropin does not prescribe it. If you decide to explore medication after a diagnosis, we can support you with a referral to a prescribing clinician. Their fees, and the cost of any medication, would be separate.

Why prices vary between providers

  • Whether the price covers the full pathway or only the first appointment
  • Whether a written report is included
  • Whether a collateral interview is included
  • The qualifications of the clinician carrying out the assessment
  • Whether follow-up or medication support is offered

Questions to ask before you book

  • What is the total price from first contact to final report?
  • Who will carry out the assessment, and what are their qualifications?
  • Is the service registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC)?
  • What happens if no diagnosis is made?
  • What support is available afterwards?
