Registered Medical Insurers

Hello! I am a Consultant Dermatologist based in London - a doctor who specialises in skin issues, who has had to sit about 3434774 exams before qualifying (slight exaggeration…). I have expertise across general adult dermatology with special interests in inflammatory conditions such acne, eczema and psoriasis. I have completed additional training on the use of dermoscopy (the use of a special magnifying glass) which helps me diagnose skin cancer at an early stage.

My belief is that an ‘expert’ should be able to read scientific literature and be able to translate this into something that the general public can make use of. So, despite having wandered around Oxford, Cambridge and Imperial, you won’t catch me using jargon.

My aim is to make sorting your skin as simple as possible - you need to know what you’re putting inside your body (or on your skin), and I can help guide the process enabling you to make the best informed choices for you. Seeing your doctor doesn’t have to be a tense ordeal - who knows, having a consultation can even be a relaxing, informative and *gasp* fun experience!

I work part-time as an Honorary Clinical Fellow in Dermatopathology which means that I look at skin biopsies under a microscope. This can help me understand how skin conditions are developing at the cellular level, and helps me provide better care. I am a member of the Royal College of Physicians Question Writing Group, in which I help produce exam questions for the next generation of doctors. This helps me keep my knowledge up-to-date, especially in rare conditions which we rarely see in the clinic.

When I’m not fixing skin, I enjoy watching basketball, cycling (slowly!) and eating too much food.
